Picture 30 ST- (sent on 9 October, 2006)
This parcel of 10 works sent by Sue on 9/10/2006 included a note which Carol was delighted to belatedly find today (12/11/06). Sue proposed that we just work on each piece once, instead of keeping open the option of the orginator adding a third layer: "Do you want to just work on each one once? I'm loving what's happening and think most of them work with us each having one go". Me too, Sue! I think it's a great idea. Let's do it!

Carol and Sue decided to collaborate on A4-sized works on paper in early 2006, posting "starts" - unresolved and/or unfinished works - to each other. The challenge, on receipt of a parcel of works, is to add to each of them in some manner, before posting them back to their originator. A number of new "starts" - we have chosen to send 5 pieces at a time - are included in the return package, inviting the other's creative interventions. Sue and Carol enjoyed working together on a collaborative painting at art school in Canberra in the late 1980's, and this project reactivates their creative exchange.
